I build the phase 45 project from tonepad, but instead of a phase i got something like a fuzz.
The transistors that i used are bf244a, and instead of the tl072 i used the tl082 chip, wich is a replacement, does anyone built it and had the same problem? or anyone knows what is happening?
sorry for the english, i'm from Brazil....

Thanks

My guess is that it's due to the type of transistors you used. There's a thread in the archives somewhere where RG talks about the JFETs that need to be used in the Phase 45/90 circuits. Some JFETs don't have the necessary characteristics for use in that type of circuit.

EDIT: Here's that thread http://www.diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?t=27188&highlight=pinchoff

Mine didnt work either with those JFETs. I tried BF244 and BF245. Try J201s, they seem to work. I doubt the opamp caused the problem...

According to RG, J201s aren't supposed to work well in this circuit, but they did just fine for me.  8)

It's most likely not the opamp. The TL072 is just a lower noise version of a TL082, so don't sweat that part substitution.
