i "found" an effect! reverse engineered it

It wan't that long ago that you couldn't get transistors that disipate 10 amps in a TO-3 case. If you can't switch enough amperage but you can switch voltage, a transformer allows you to transform one into the other.

I havn't looked at the board to see the connections... is this one in a phase splitter or output position?

For another transformer/transistor based amp, just look at an old Pignose. :D They used one transformer for phase splitting and one for output.

well, since i'm "abusing" the circuit i figured i should just find out what transformer that is and somebody just told me i can do that with a scope.

and guess what i got yesterday?
uhu, a scope and a signal generator, all i have to do is find out how to use it :lol:
