hilbi-

So, just how did you come up with that picture anyhow?

hilbi

i was just searching the internet for images of fifties women in swim suits, just to give the a tremolo a vintage look.

i was inspired by all the great designs floating around here on the board.

i'm also gonna do an ab box with a nice design.

Oh, I see. I figured you must have done something like you describe. It looks good.  8)

Quote from: kojjumHere's a couple of designs in a large (1.6 Mb) pdf-file that I'm evaluating for some projects. I print them out on a transparent vinylsticker, apply them on white painted boxes and put a couple of layer with cleracoat on them.

Cool!

Exactly what I have in mind for a future design. Except that I want to air-brush the design, not use a sticker.

I like the first one better.

With a white Pearl for the rest of the box, it would be a killer.

Oh, I also like the middle one. It's different. Good for a Super Nova circuit...

Here´s the first box to be finnished. It's a passive A/B box. Not perfect but good enough for rock´n roll. Must try different clearcoat products to find one that doesn't resolve the toner from the printer I'm using. With the clear used on this one the yellow resolved.

Here´s another one...will be done tonight. A/B/Y in this case.

Kojjum,   they look GREAT  !! :D
I've found a "clear coat" that doesn't react with the decal, its a "Plastikote" clear gloss sealer for "out door" use  !!
Someone here recommended it, works very well but needs 48hrs to "cure" ( I found out by putting finger marks all over it !!)

Cheers,
Marty.

MartyMart, I'll try Plasticote on the following ones. Think that is polyuretan clear, isn't it? Easy to get hold of even here in Sweden...Bauhaus carry them. I used what i could find in the garage this time. Think it was Auto K...touch up kit tom my former Volkswagen Passat -99.

I used Krylon Clear Coat with success before.

Use only a very light coat the first time to just protect the printing from the other coats. I even give 2-3 very light coats before I begin to really spay a normal coat of clear paint.

Even better, use a "fixative" to begin with.

I used Letraset a lot many years ago.

Those are some really cool graphics!  8)

Thanks Paul

The internet is a great source for cool graphics.

Then all you need is a good printer, laminate it and glue it to the enclosure, cut some holes and that's it, simple and good looking.

That brings back some memories --I grew up watching Johnny Bond and Joe Maphis on local  TV in Los Angeles. Maphis could pick.

Exactly the method I used on my recent Treble Booster. A simple technique but with a little care and attention to detail (sizes, location of pots, sockets etc.), you can achieve a very nice looking pedal. Well worth considering if you don't fancy all the steps involved in painting/labelling etc.

Here's the aforementioned booster:
