keen's super pedal board power supply questions

This looks really cool, but I haven't made any of the power supplies before. Generally I use my boss tu2 extension. I thought that the dying battery setting would be fun to experiment with my wah and fuzzes. I am a little concerned with the primary wiring caution note. How should I wire this up? Also, I see the 500 pot but where is 100 or 150 one for Rbat? Or if I use a home made dual how should this be wired?

I haven't seen a layout for this anywhere either. Can I use perfboard from Radio Shack? How many pedals can I safely effectively run? I am thinking about just using one of those boss multi ac cables. Will that work if I wire an ac jack at the 9v and ground?

I know these are all basic questions...but I am hoping to learn a lot through doing this project.
