Hi guys now I use this technology: I make my front panel usig corel draw. Then I use color laserjet and then I laminate it.
The result is here :

I use plastic boxes now.
I like to make metal (maybe the best way is to use laser scission)

Any ideas how to put, or how to make metal boxes with good looking front panels?

Tell us your technology :)

Corel Draw is nice.  I use Illustrator, but I always like the CorelDraw node tool a lot better.  Its just more intuitive to use imo.

I drew out my 1590A, 1590BB, Alpha pots, 1/4" switchcrafts, Carling DPDT, Fulltone 3PDT, a toggle, battery, DC jack, and a couple knobs to withing under 1/16th of an inch specs.  They look so nice.  Now I know if things are gonna fit before I even start.  ;)

Gotta love vector art.  :D

I highly suggest doing this because it really shows how it will look when finished.

Here is a sample of mine.  Its not for lables yet, but maybe soon.

Hey Nikolay, a bit off topic, do your plastic boxes allow much hum? Do you have to screen them with paint or foil? I'm planning on using a plastic box too but I don't want to screen it since it's a dark transparent red and I don't want to ruin that. Do you think it'd result in too much hum?

Some really really cool boxes you've got there, Nikolay.
Well, first I do a 3D visualisation of the box to make sure it fits right. This gives me the advance of accurately placing all the components tightly and 3 dimensionally without interfering. Then I build the box and hit the labels on it with a labelmaker. You know those little gun-shaped thingies. So no much artwork there. But the boxes work. Most of the time... :P

Thanks,

Thanks JimRayden for your answer :)
I use foil inside of my boxes, and when I put pots in the box I solder one of the pots to gnd, that give me foil shield for the box.

Hey Outlaws, how about donating your art to the community? (or selling it?) You could set up a zip file of gifs or jpegs and people could layout boxes in paint or photoshop. It would be cool!

Post there if you want to bump it.  I don't know if Aron ever saw it or if he wasn't interested.  But you can DL it still if you want it.
