Hey Guys,

Has anyone out there ever built a remote volume pedal? I want to control the volume from my pedalboard without having long signal lines to and
from my rack.

Thanks,

Brian
I didn't start playing the guitar to get rich and famous, so far it's workin' out just fine.

Would I be able to accomplish this with Anderton's VPR by running a cable to a remote expression pedal?

Yes, just like I did it with Anderton's Clean up your Wah. Same process. Remote the pot, use it to control current to the LED. Use the LDR for setting volume.

Ah! Are you suggesting I use the pot replacement circuit from the wah upgrade as opposed to the VPR? The VPR does not have an LDR.

Thanks,

just a suggestion: many tremolo circuits can be abused to be converted to volume-controls, by replacing the LFO voltage with a "pedalled"CV...

Either way. The point is that once the pot does not carry audio, you can physically separate the pot from the circuit it controls, and run those DC control signals on long wires between circuit and a remote rocker pot. You'll have to use a stereo cord to do the simplest version, but it does work.

Does the LDR matter, or does it have to be a CLM6000?

This may be a bit over kill, but cheap it you have the dead pedal.

I built a remote volume control using a basic wah-wah circut i scavanged out of a re-issuse VOX crybaby. one of the Transisters where shot and i needed the rocker pedal so i got the whole thing for $7 at a swap meet, replaced the Transiters with 2n3904's and decoupled the 4.7uf Cap. Add the "scratchy pot mod" and stick it in a rack unit and i got a nice remote volume control for around $12 dollars.

the Rocker Mechinisim connects to the Rack unit through a single Stereo audio cable. I use the other jack on the Pedal to control a DPDT Relay to Bypass the Unit. Kinda Stupid in hind sight, as I could have just left the Pedal in the up position.

there seems to be a small amount sucking, when it is not bypassed, If i thought it was worth doing, i would go back and put a buffer on it.
