What is a good low noise substitute for a 2N5457 JFET?

I've been trying to reduce as much noise as possible from an Orange Squeezer circuit.  I've tried low noise IC's, metal film resistors, etc.  Anyone have an idea for a low noise JFET that would work in this circuit.  Thanks!

I am FINALLY satisfied with my orange squeezer. The secret was low gain fets (MPF102) , with the bias pot as low as possible, a .015 input cap, with a 1uF np output cap and a JRC4558 opamp. The 4558 sounded a whole lot smoother than the TL072 :-) FYI.

Note from JD: I tried the MPF102 FETS and I think I like the 2N5457 better.

You can use 2N5458 appears to be same Transistor but i like more the new 2N5458 ......


orange squeezer is one of the best compressor and very easy to build.....

i like more the 4558 IC
