Hi,

I just bought an old CE-2 chorus (MIJ it is alledged).I notice that the adaptor spec is an ACA.

What is the difference?I seem to think that the ACA is Barrel negative from memory, the reverse of a PSA.

Can I convert the pedal to centre negative 9vdc?

Cheers

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I like the way it sounds!

ACA is center negative/barrel positive, the same as PSA. The difference is that ACA is 12 volts unregulated (9v unreg after 1997), while PSA is 9 volts regulated.

If the LED doesn't light up properly with a regulated 9 volt DC supply, you can quite easily modify the pedal to work with 9 volts. If you search the forum, I'm sure you'll find lots of threads discussing this. There are a few ways to get it done - one way is to remove and jumper the resistor/diode combination from the adapter jack's ground to the pcb ground plane. Another involves moving the adapter jack ground wire to connect directly to ground.

However, if you use a daisy chain or non-isolated power supply to power PSA pedals alongside the CE-2, it will most likely receive full power (LED should light up) even without modification (as long as the signal cables are connected as well).
