For those of you who like wild, tweakable fuzzes, i present a stripboard layout of the Experimentalists Anonymous Parallel Universe ! This circuit was created by one of our forum members, Colin. He has the original schematic posted at the Experimentalists Anonymous website.

Anyway, its an easy board to build, but there are LOTS of "offboard" connections (5 pots, 3 switched, 2 jacks...and a partridge in a pear tree...), so take care when wiring it up !

Enjoy !

  that's the parallel universe?  cant believe how simple it is!  it was selling for like 200 or something wasnt it?  not as bad as the "sonic annihilator" though... and since it was a limited run i understand.  but I'd never pay that much for something that actually makes NICE sounds :P

don't use vero here, but i'll definitely build it some time.  thanks Dragonfly, nice work!

That thing has as many parts as it has pots !!!

...simplicity can be beautiful ! :)

this is from the schemo he has posted on his website...his "production" models may be different from this, i'm not sure....

What are the cap values - got bad eyes...?

petemoore

electro's =10uf
 The other 2 caps are = .1uf

Ya know, I gotta say that the photo documentary about that pedal is one of the best for showing the full range of work involved in making a pedal -- fantastic:

and yet again I find myself thanking Dragonfly (first for the sparkelboost) -- this is a sweet layout!  You must be in my skull -- You rock man!

hey I just noticed the SPST "oscillate" switch too.  I love that part.  can anyone tell me if flipping the switch would result in a swell-to-sustained-oscillation, or just full-on-oscillation-from-the-get-go?  either way, i plan on using a nice big momentary push button...  i love those things and i gots a ton :D

I have a "KROK" circuit on the horizon that'll use one momentary and on on-off in parallel to kick in the feedback loop... should allow for some really nice stuff, like tapping it on just as a chord decays.  nice shaping shall ensue...  oh, im rambling.

guess i'll do anything to avoid the last 500 words of a 2500 word essay  :x

when i do the build, i'll be using a DPDT footswitch for the "oscillate" function...one side will be "off", and the other will feed a pot to control the actual amount of oscillation....

at least thats the "plan"  :)

yeah...Colin seems to be a really nice, detail oriented guy...

while i'm "in your skull" i'll pick up the place a bit....toss out the trash, do the dishes, etc :D  Great minds think alike (then again, i'm no "great mind", so hopefully thats not saying something about you !)    :D

What about the pots: Level/log and rest linear?

i would assume that to be correct, thought the schematic doesnt specify....
