Anyone Solder George L Cable to Switchcraft Plugs?

I'm strongly considering it.  I absolutely love the wire, but not too crazy about the plugs.  My pedal board is completely George L - the small wire.  As long as they stay put, they're fine.  The moment I start moving stuff around, they begin to flake out - especially the right angle ones.  An even bigger problem are the longer George L cables I use between the amp and the pedal board and in the effects loop.  Plugging in, unplugging, packing & unpacking for gigs leaves me with unreliable cables.  In my experience, the whole George L thing is GREAT if they don't move...at all.

The reason I use George L is for the wire - not the "convenience" of having a solderless connection.  I read an article about using the George L wire along with standard Switchcraft plugs - the #280, the #226 or #228 I think.

Anyone else ever do this with any degree of success?  Thanks!

I use the Belen 9271-blue cable with the right angle swithcraft plugs.  In my opinion, it is far better than the George L cable.  I have used the George L cable before and in comparing to the belden, it lacked the clarity and brilliance the Belden has.  I could be crazy, I really do not trust personal by ear opinions.  We are all so different!!!  Try it out though!  And yes, soldering to the right angle swithcraft plugs was a snap!

I have never had any problems with the George L's  I have about 30 of them on my Large board and unplug stuff fairly often.  The main thing is to get them put together properly the first time and then they are pretty durable.  I've never tried them besides on a pedal board but for a PB they are the bomb IMO.
