I agree that he might have been Weezer's secret weapon.  I loved all the quirky falsetto background vocals he added to the songs.

I actually built a Matt Sharp "Frankenbass" a few years ago...a black Fender Jazz with a Tele-style neck.  I remember seeing that thing in all the music videos and wondering where the hell he got it from.
