Hi !

I just put together a AD3208 with 4x BL3208 instead of 02x MN3205 since they are now almost impossible to get.

The question is :

I only added the 02 extra BLs to the board nothing more and the result was same MN3205 sound but with a distortion in the end.
I tried everything with the BIAS and Balance trim pots
and the distortion won't go away.

do you think should I add an extra MN3102 too? or 01 is enough?

any good tip?

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry if this answer is slightly off topic, BUT... You should check out Small Bear for all your BBD needs. He has plenty of MN3205 chips, as well as LOADS of other cool stuff. Give it a look.

thanks anyways!

bl3208's have two outputs, are you connecting both outputs together thru 2K4 resistors or a 5k trimpot with the output from the wiper?

Are you calibrating with a 'scope ; or by ear? Also, maybe try multi-turn trimpots for the bias & balance. More fine control over the process.

TELEFUNKON

looks like it`s for multiple commercial builds. so supply must be steady.

not yet!

I didn't know about that.

thanks sir!

GGG has all the scope calibrating info right there in the ad3208 description. In the case of your build, the process has to be repeated 4 times;increasing the margin of error. I guess thats why a scope is preferable. The fact that the unit works means youre almost there; so keep them knobs turning!
