How do I install the 16mm pots?

I bought the 16mm pots from smallbear & I'm not too
sure why there's a piece of metal sticking up beside the shaft.
I guess it's to stop it from spinning??
What do I need to make a slot for this thing??
I thought I'd just have to drill one hole for the shaft.
Can I just cut the piece off maybe??

You can either snap off the little tab, or you can drill a smaller hole to keep it from spinning. I always snap the tab off, but I might start drilling 2 holes for every pot to take advantage of the little tab.

Sure can, that's what we all do. Just use a star tooth lock washer, and it will stay tight.

Just use a star tooth lock washer, and it will stay tight.

Star washer goes on the inside, between the top of the pot and the enclosure. The regular flat washer goes on the outside with the nut. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

you don't need to "cut" it - just pop it off with a small pair of plyers
