Anyone build that.  I am looking for a clean octave up.

Clean Octave Up is 'hard' to do...there's a good description and project at GEO...
Most octaves get a square wave or so going, which means Fuzz, then get the diodes to fold the wave over for octave effect, put very simply...anyway you need Fuzz to get an EZ Build Octave going...of which there are some choices I like...used one just a short while ago...Octave Up Sick Box ! Was getting a real nice P.Haze sound, and the BOG Naizalley 'Schnorckz' it gets alone and cleaned up a bit'.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I built it, and all I could get out of it was overdrive. I never did get an up octave out of it. It says something about it needing more gain going in. I plan to shove it with an OD sometime and see if it'll do anything. I just built the Psychtar the other day, and it done a pretty clean octave up in it's octave setting. You couldn't really fuzz it if it was fully cranked. You also get a sitar simulator out of the deal, so it's a worthwhile. A couple of the other up octaves will stay fairly clean as long as you don't drive them too hard. The Simple Octave Up and Bobtavia are not too bad used like that. The Super Fuzz sounds like it's fairly clean in the "Notch" position, and I've always thought Scott Swartz's Octave Screamer sample sounded fairly clean. That one I plan to build fairly soon, since I finally got a TL071 chip in. I've built several different ones, and so far, those are the only ones that come close to clean. The SOU and Bobtavia will fuzz when they're cranked though. For what I've built up to this point, the Psychtar seems to be about the best at clean octave up. I wrote a review on it the other day.

Zachary's new Jonny Octave pedal sounds pretty good--almost like a couple of Green Ringers in series, actually, except less clunky.  (I haven't played it, just watched his video.)  I wonder if he'd give a few hints...
