Whammy Pedal Help-please.True Bypass Wiring?

Hey Guys',

For some silly reason I decided it would be a good idea to do a TB mod in a Digitech XP-100 whammy(the red one),and add a box inplace of the tactile switches so I could use Carling style stomps.

After battling through the track cutting(looked like it came out the guts of an IBM)and seed resistors,on sound test I was copping a heap of noise bypassed, and a tone that sounded like Pacman eating a power pill everytime pressed a function.

I have freaked out and removed the TB wiring, and the pedal works normally again, but I hate the internal buffer that is still active in the bypassed position.

Any tips for shielding wiring in pedals that have DSP curcuitry,I'm not sure the 9 volts AC has too much bearing,as it is rectified and filtered to 5vdc pretty much straight from the jack........I assume that the clock signals are a culprit?

As far as performing TB wiring mods, what is the best wiring method for doing this,as far as where the jacks are "broken" into, where we end up with a "send/return" hot for the input and output legs.

Before the attempt on the XP100,I did a relay TB mod to a Morley Bad Horsie with just twisted pairs, and it seems to work fine. But now I realise(duh)that I should of used shielded cable.......would 2 core screened with screen grounded at one end be the best method?

Excuse the long post,I should of split it into 2 threads

Cheers

Chris........
I have no idea what I'm doing, but I like the way it sounds!

...use a true bypass/loop box.  No cutting required....

Changed the wiring to all screened(Canare mic cable)..........works great!
