After hours of debugging this simple circuit, I spotted a minor error in the schematic of the project at Pisotones: BC214 in the schematic has been drawn as NPN, but all the datasheet on http://www.alldatasheet.com/ report that this is a PNP transistor.
I say this because I had no BC214 at home and I tried unsuccesfully to substitute it with other trans... but, following the schematic, I tried NPN transistors only!
I guess that's the reason why my circuit hasn't work so far. I'm not at home and I'll be able to check it now!!!

Weird, I have 3 schematics for that on my hard drive. The Pistones one (creation date Feb. 2004) has it drawn as PNP.

The real schematics show a 2N5087 in V1, and a 2SA666 in V2.

I'd stay away from the 666 if I were a god fearing man...

Thank you man!
By the time, I've found another schematic at discofreq site
http://filters.muziq.be/model/musitronics/mutronmicro5
and it agrees with what you said.

I'm going to draw something with 2sa666 and a prescaler called U666B, all under the supervision of a MAX666 5V regulator

By the way, who's the curator of DiscoFreq? Is he reading this forum?

Sometimes I have a look here, like when I see the URL in the stats (referrers) of my site ;)
