Boss volume control issue

I just modded my Boss Metal Zone and it sounds great, but the thing is so loud now I can't put the level knob past...well...just about anything before it becomes too loud. I can see where this would work great for stage applications, but I never play outside of the house.  Is there anything I can do to the pedal to give me back some control of the level and still keep the improvement in tone?

I suppose it largely depends on exactly what the mods were that you did. Perhaps (if you boosted the gain) you boosted it too much... or you may need to adjust the volume control section to provide more attenuation.
