Anyone have / want an AC-2 layout? - Finished layout inside!

Boy.  Oh boy.  I really want-slash-need to build this beast.  Just wondering if anyone has whipped up a layout for it?

If not... I spose that maybe I could attempt one... just don't expect it anytime soon  :?  :wink:

If you want a acoustic simulator, why not to give a try to Mark Hammer's Woody? The layout is in my site, and the schematic and soundclip is in Mark's site.

thanks, i WAS actually gonna give it a try... but the woody is admittedly not quite so "breathtakingly realistic" as something like the AC-2, and some EQ knobs would probably be really useful.

I'm about 1/4 done the pcb layout (worked on it a bit during class today)... I decided to go with the modded version that's been floating around for simplicity's and mids's sake.  Dunno when I'll finish though... I'll be busy as hell for the next few weeks  :x

I'm 90% done now, it looks like it'll be about a 3.4"x3.2" board.  I cheated and used a jumper... but just wondering, if a jumper is needed and you have the choice between having it in the signal path, 4.5V+ power line, or ground, which should you choose?

DONE!!!  It'll fit on a board approx 3.8"x3.2".  You may want to mess around with it a bit before you transfer or draw it to accomodate your parts...  For instance, I have gigantic 1uf film caps I like to use, and they're almost an inch long, so you may wish to make those pads closer if you're using electrolytics or smalled caps.  I tried to keep things neat while minimizing size, but I think as long as you put resistors and sockets in first, it should all fit snugly.  I'll pretty it up in paint and make a nice parts layout when i have time (probly next week), but if anyone can't wait, i'll send the ExpressPCB file.

Keep in mind, this is my first PCB layout, and it's quite a doosie, so if you want to build it before I trace through it and build it and make sure it's right, it's at your own risk, and you can't yell at me if it doesnt work good

FYI: There might be an error on the simplified schematic.  The filters look like they are intended to be fixed to the AC-2 Standard mode.  However, from what I can make out,  for Standard mode the stage with 22k, 6k8, 2x47n, 82k (basically IC6B on the original), should actually have the 6k8 replaced with 3k9 parallel 6k8 parallel 330k ie. about 2k4.    It might be worth experimenting with this resistor to taste- for an in between setting to use something like 3k3 or 3k9.

Will those tl074 quad opamps run off a 9v battery... I thought they were +9v -9v rail chips maybe LM3900 is better choice, pin outs are differnt though.

Got a moment to compile my parts list for this (and the twenty other projects i've been dying to build when university lets out...) and caught a little error on the layout...  R23 is labelled "128k" when it is of course suppposed to be a 120k... oops!  :oops:

The three or four nasty pixels that held the potential to mislead us all have been dispatched.  Now hopefully I don't find anything else I overlooked when I build it this summer
