I have always wondered how other people refer to FETs and LEDs in actual speak. When I was in high school, we referred to them as Efeetees and Eleedees, yet then I heard people referrring to Mosfets and Cmos stuff referred as they're written ("Mossfett" and  "Seemoss")

So I just heard someone refer to those little lights as a "lead" (as in Led Zeppelin).

So how do YOU say it? Until I'm corrected, I'll still be saying Efeetees and Eleedees and possibly looking like a fool.

Here in Brazil we say like is write. Semoss, Mossfett, Ledd, Jac, Knob, but there are things that we just use the translation of it, like diodo (diode), potenciômetro (pot), chave (switch), fio (wire).

You missed one. When you take a Light Emitting Diode and use it in a circuit in a way that causes it to stop emitting light, it actually begins to emit darkness, becoming a Darkness Emitting Diode, or "DED".

A pronúncia "correta" é transistor (a última sílaba é a tônica), como em resistor, diodo, triodo e não transístor (afinal ninguém diz resístor, díodo).

In Dutch, it's mostly how you write it with "words" for the easily pronouncable groups  ("See-moss", "lead" mossfet,, see-pee-you  etc)
One cute one is our "slang" for a transisTOR - it's called a "tor" which translates directly as "bug".
