Eeeeehh??? How can we simulate a ground point? i found some semiconductor stuff on TI.com..

Can somebody tell me about these two "themes"?

Thanks,

Could you give alittle more information. What circuit type is this refereing too ? Opamp based ?

General.. In both low-voltage circuits like effects and in power supplies..

Thanks,

Well "virtual ground" is usually a term used when creating a bias point that will serve as a zero reference in a circuit that otherwise would not operate using true ground. This usually applies to opamps used in single supply mode. Typically it is 1/2 V+.

Ground lift is dissconnecting the ground of a circuit locally so that it will share a ground in another part of the total circuit.  This is usally done to prevent ground loops or power supply discrepencies.

Hope that helps.
