Pete's too polite and Dave's too English.

Roger Waters on the other hand...
Passive sucks.

One little 'l' in Waters and what do you have?  I rest your case.

I find it just a little out of character that our moderator has not stepped into this fray. It has gotten a little nasty here and there. Normally he'd be all over this. HMMMM.

Quote from: waltersim not sure if i want to come back to talking with you techs
Remember that we're not all "techs." Many of us are just people who come here too much for our own good.

Quote from: waltersalot of drama has been made about me already i have like 600views about this post about me its pretty embrassing how u treat
a new person in your site.
Yes, a lot of drama HAS been made. But what do you expect when you post 50 questions on your first day? If you dance in the streets naked, people will look at you. But this "drama" can blow over, so don't worry.

Quote from: waltersI dont care if u have a Degree or a EE degree or u been doing electronics since u were 14yrs old so what its a piece of paper on your wall even if that. Does thismake you smarter than me?
No it doesn't make anyone smarter than you. But it makes them qualified to answer your questions, which is what you want, isn't it? It is from these people that we can learn. And I can say for myself that I've learned a lot from these folk with NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF ELECTRONICS. Well, except a rough recollection of Ohms law from grade 12.

Quote from: waltersR.G. has made me feel very Guity about that
im taking advantage and im dominating the site
Well, and he should, because not one of us wants you to DOMINATE the site. We want you to PARTICIPATE in the site. The more experienced people are patient with our repetitive questions. What beginners, including myself, have to learn here is to be patient themselves, because the answers will come with time.

Quote from: waltersI came to this site to have fun and a good time it has Stressed me out alot . . . to all u techs that hate me for taking advantage of you
Relax, nobody hates you. We just ask that you respect etiquette, and slow down with the questions.

Quote from: waltersi would like if R.G would never answer
my questions that i have posted i dont like his vibe at all.
Is there anyway to Block him so i dont have to talk to him or
get any messages from him tell me?

Dude, BAD CALL. Don't make it personal. If you stop mass posting, start punctuating, and relax, you and R.G> can get along. I read some of your threads, and R.G> did a good job of explaining some things to do. And he will CONTINUE to answer your questions as long as you a) don't thread-rape the forum, b) punctuate, and c) learn not to hold grudges over internet "conversations." All will be well. I think you're a little nervous, and getting defensive over this. Just realize that we're reasonable people. Don't wear a chip on your shoulder, because someone is bound to ACCIDENTALLY bump into you and knock it off.

These is getting really old, I dont think i asked to many questions
they will just be posted you dont have to answer them just go on by
or delete them if im taking to much of the hard drive space. I thought
this was a web site that you could ask about electronic guitar effects.
This has been more of a anger management of a alot of you with your
Posts than techs. These post i have are only for to make you think
and to learn from. I dont understand why alot of techs are so into
how i writing my english grammer if your so smart and have all these
electronic background by u can't read or make sence just seems like
your focusing on my english grammer as a tactic to redirect because
you dont know how to answer my questions and say that im stupid.
Its better if you dont say anything at all and just go to somebodys
other post i don't need your answers from a tech more interested
into my english grammer, electronic background, personal background
questions theses are just tactics. Most techs like to put a Facade
about there electronic background and i been doing this when i was
12yrs old i dont care this is another tactic that techs use to make them
feel they are smarter than you just close my post and go away i like
to keep to myself and use these site like everyone else.

this guy is clearly a troll.

peter, is this not a ban-type situation?  :?:

This is INDEED getting old.  Fellow forum-dwellers, this thread is more appropriate for the lounge and I recommend it be moved there post-haste.  What say you, Mr. Moderator?

Mr., Ms., Messrs, etc Walters:

Please investigate the use of the word "tech".  You are obsessed with that expression and fling it about liberally.  Again, the vast majority of people here are musicians, not "techs".  You actually ask engaging questions and could be a well-liked and respected contributor if you would just turn your intensity from 11 back to 2 or so...

petemoore

Well RG's Vibe I'm used to, I think I can understand the intent of what he's typing pretty well.
I think I catch you're vibe Walters, cool name but I don't understand it.
Say for instance 'it's cool that you insult people here, because nobody has changed the way they feel about RG as a result of wrongful insults'...that said, what is it that you would like us to do for you?
All Techkie and highbrow as we are 'n stuff ?
You may like thinking we 'highbrow' around here to newbs, but we don't like you thinking that....I speak for the group and myself. I'd like you to change your thinking on the statements you made about Tech facade etc.
To be honest, when I started here, I had preconcieved notions about people who know more than me, tricking me or internet flambagling, and was looking for it for a while...I didn't find any, glad to show this card I am, I ended up taking the 'highbrow radar' down after it continuously showed no traces of 'downspeak' by knowledgable people...anyone here.
If there's any intentional wrongdoing, I'm sure I can find it...lol
I find it somewhat distracting that you should post such pains, there must be something else we should be working on...like what the problem actually is, that we all can recognize...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Man, these posts from walter are very tiring to read. Sorry bro but your typing needs immediate improvement.

Quote from: waltersI dont think i asked to many questions
Well, dude, you're wrong. I don't care what you "think" you did, many of us have stated that you have asked too many questions in such a short time. Having said that, I'm stoked that we have anoter enthusiast here who has lots of questions to ask. And many of your questions were REALLY good questions that led to REALLY GOOD ANSWERS (ex. Phaser).

Quote from: waltersyou dont have to answer them just go on by
or delete them if im taking to much of the hard drive space.
The only problem is that it fills up the page, and other people's questions get buried. That's why we would like the questions spread out over time. That's all.
Quote from: waltersI dont understand why alot of techs are so into
how i writing my english grammer if your so smart and have all these
electronic background by u can't read
I'm not udging you as a bad person or anything like that when I say please punctuate. I'm advising you that if you use punctuation, your questions will make more sense, and the answers you get will be better. Nobody is saying that you're stupid. We jst ask that you try to make yourself more clear, by separating questions and statements and whatnot using punctiation.

The thing that people don't like here, walters, is when people show up new to the forum, step on people's toes, and when someone tries to politely tell them how to behave more appropriately, they deny that they are stepping on toes. I'm just letting you know that you have stepped on some toes, albeit accidentally,, and even though you meant no harm, there is a better and more effective way to behave.

Spread out questions over time. Answer others' questions. Be patient. Punctuate to make your questionds and comments more clear to the reader.

If you do these things you will become a helpful and wanted member of this community. If you don't, people will not like you. It's as simple as that.

Feels like being back in high school. Oh wait I still am.

aron

Man, I've been super busy this weekend and now I see this.... hmmm...

OK, this reminds me of an earlier time when I was on the internet usegroups. I was really into it. You know, just posting away. I had a comment about nearly everything related to synthesizers. I posted and posted and someone wrote to me via email.

He basically said:

"Aron, I can tell you are new and that you are excited to be on the internet usegroups. However, try taking it slow and not posting for a while until you learn how the dynamics of the group works. Think twice before every post..."

It turns out that was really great advice!

Walter, you need to relax, check out what's here and realize how the forum works. You need to read the "About this forum" and realize one very important thing. There's no good that comes from attacking people on the forum.

R.G. (and possibly others), I am sorry that you had to read those posts from Walter.

I'm going to remove this thread in a few days.
