Hi all, I had a switching question.
I'm just finishing building a Ruby amp for my Niece. I decided
to "donate" my easydrive circuit, and build it into the amp.
I installed the circuit into the enclosure, and I'm switching the
Easydrive on and off with a single pole double throw switch.
The problem is, I still get a good deal of the effect sound with
the switch set to the "clean" side :?:

I have it wired so that the SPDT common terminal is feeding
the Ruby circuit, then one pole goes to the IN jack, and the
other goes to the OUT of the Easydrive. I'm not sure why
I still get some effect with this switching arrangement. Is it
because the IN jack is also still conncted to the Easydrive?
Would changing to a DPDT switch help with this :?:
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I built this into a 50 cal. ammo
box, and I'll be posting pictures when it's done :D

Might try using a dpdt like you would any effect, otherwise you might get some signal sneaking its way through. If you want 100% clean tone this should fix it.

Tht's what I'm going to try.
I was just curious how the Easydrive signal
could get through the switched line, maybe through
the ground wire?
Thanks!

Here's a little diagram of how it's hooked-up now:

I guess I'm confused as to how a DPDT will help
with the switching :?:

So, you powered up easydrive is still connected to the signal input when switched to clean  ?

I'd get that easydrive off the input signal, it may also be causing an impedence problem. Go with a DPDT...

Thanks Toney-
Yes, the Easy Drive is still connected to the input
when switched to clean.
Is this better:

I'm off to Rat Shack tonight to try the DPDT switch.
