Well i have been mucking about for a bit modding a DS-1, and i have kinda turned it into a gritty boost, by removing some parts, and replacing some others, but i decided it wanted to cut out the tone circuit completely since it was going to be a boost only.  When i did cut the board i must have done it in the wrong spot because now the tone and volume both don't work, but it does sound like what i wanted, just really really loud.  So i guess all i need to know is what number wire is the input for the volume control and i will connect this at the end of the circuit.

Or is this a bad idea, and i am going about it all wrong?

Bye-the-bye this is a MIT DS-1 with the wires to the pots coupled together.

a picture of the guts might help diagnose the problem and suggest a solution.
