Quick question guys. On RTS boards (or also a handmade board for that matter) for wah projects, it seems all have a 4-lead inductor scheme.

One example is from General Guitar Gadgets mod-able wah project, shown here:

My question is, am I limited to using a 4-lead inductor, or can I use a 2-lead inductor (like a Fasel for example)? If I can, which of the leads on the board would I populate?

Thanks

If you look at the lay out the two leads on the each side are soldered together. Just make sure you jump the gap where they arent together and ull be fine.

I don't have personal experience of this, but I think the "four lead" inductor is really only a two lead inductor, with a spare pair of legs (the spare legs are there in case someone wanted to wind the core as a transformer, plus it makes the unit more secure on the board).

Also if you look at the Vox/Crybaby schematics it only shows one inductor coil. Which leads me to believe that its only one of them in there.  So Paul is probably right about the stability thing. Unless they had another idea and forgot to change their PCBs lol
