Self Inflicted DS-1 Mods..............done today.

I've had one since the early 90's......got it at a pawn shop for $10 because the battery clip was busted so I couldn't check it out......... she told me $10 ... I jumped on it.  But it has alway sounded thin and wimpy to me......to easily lost in the blend of the band.  Consequently the thing has spent years in the closet.  Then....I started hearing about these mods.

I wound up buying the GuitarTone mod (which gets the Keeley mod as a bonus) AND the mods off of FuzzCentral just to compare circuits and see what they do.  Most of them are very close to alike.  As a result.....I over-analyzed like I always do.....over-researched..... but settled on the Keeley Seeing Eye/Ultra combo mod....and did it..... TODAY!!!!!

All I can say is..............WakajaWaka!!!!!!  It flat out changed that pedal into a monster.  It breathes.....it compresses.....it crunches better than ever before......and yet it is articulate.  The notes stand out SO well.

It seems to have a wonderful range of adjustments too.  It will go as hard driving as I want..... but at the same time......with finesse....you can get great low overdriven tone out of it as well.

I REALLY gotta re-think my pedal board.    :shock:
