Latching?

Can somebody pleas tell me what latching means? Is that a normal switch? (one that not "returns")?

yes this is a "normal" switch. you press it, it goes from OFF to ON and stays ON when you lift your finger/foot from it.

a non-latching footswitch only switches to ON as long as you stand on it.

the opposite of "momentary." it switches and stays switched until it is depressed again (unlatched).
