Hi all,

I'm still a novice when it comes to pedal-building, but I'm starting to gain confidence.  This confidence has inspired me to build this:

It's the Weak Joe compressor.  It's going well so far, double-sided PCB and all.  I'm still populating the board.

My question is, are there any recommendations for powering it?  Dual-battery with 15V regulator (this would be my first time doing either), AC-powered, or 15V wall-wart (or power-switching battery & wall-wart).  Does it matter?  Would any of the above work equally well?

I'm very inexperienced with anything other than 9V straight from the battery, so it would really help if any potential helpers could be pretty detailed.  I know you folks can help me out. Thanks in advance!

You can get a 23v power supply out of one 9v battery or power supply using a charge pump then use a 15v regulator.

there is the info, hope this helps

I am working on cloning a few 15v EH pedals and this is how I plan to power them.

23 volts?  typo?  don't you mean 25 or 33 volts?

but shouldn't you mean 18 volts?  regulating to 15 after 18V makes a lot more sense- pumping a second or third time just to dissipate all that into heat is a waste, even if you are using a power supply... right?
