I've been lurking around on this forum for ages now and have seen some wicked builds and picked up some great tips!
I have just completed my first attempt at a pedal with active circuitry, which was the infamous Nurse Quacky.
I decided on this build because of its simple design and because it wasn't a distortion pedal (something which i have plenty of already), and I have to say, to my surpise, that aside from one small hickup (forgetting to connect two resistors) the build went very smoothly and I'm really stoked at the outcome. All thats left is for me to borrow a drill and box that sucker up!

I've definitely got the DIY bug now, and am about to start a build of the Tycho Brahe Octavia. Hopefully it will go as smoothly as my last build did.

I've also noticed a few other Australians on the board, how many more of you are out there?

Congrats! Atually, the Nurse Quacky was among my first boxes too. The board was a mess but it sounded real real good. I'm currently starting to rebuild it and this time box it up.

Good luck with the octavia, smccusker!

"Alright, he's hooked after one box everybody!"

[cue medium size crowd cheering, yelling, clapping hands]

"And it was the Nurse, and it works!!!!"

[crowd cheers even louder]

Seriously, welcome to the forum. The Nurse is pretty touchy for a lot of people. Good job.

Thanks guys!
Actually, I do have one question. Would it be as simple as I think to mod the Nurse Q so that you can switch between tone and volume modulation?
Could you have a switch that routed the signal through an LDR that was triggered by the LED that lights up acording to incoming signal?

If so, how come the Boss Slow Gears are so damn complex?
