Wasn't there a thread a while back about selling pedals on Ebay to raise money? I can't find the specifics at the moment but Im wondering about the details. Were these all original designs?

Circuit-wise, for the most part, no.

Were there any legal issues re-selling a published design for said cause? Did you (whoever) need to get a license or similar?

I'm not going to get into that one, do a search for "copyright" and you'll be occupied with all kinds of crap for hours.

Let's put it this way: you can build and sell all the Tubescreamer/Fuzz Face/whatever clones you want, as long as you (a) do your own PCB artwork (i.e. don't rip off anyone else's PCB) and (b) don't use any trademarks in your advertising, lest the originator come after you.

The specific pedals you're referring to were all made by the original builders themselves, and just painted by someone else (with their consent) to raise $.

There was another guy selling pedals for a fund raiser, I believe...

He was giving a portion of the proceeds to the original circuit designer. I'm sure he contacted the designer and worked out the details ahead of time.

Sure. I certainly don't intend to rip anyone off.

'Nuff said.

Thanks for the link. I remember that thread.

I do work and fundraising for Girls Rock Camp. In a sleepless moment last night I was thinking that selling pedals might be a good tie in.

Im sure it will pass.
