I'm working on building a Bass Paralooper (2nd try) and I went back to to original shematic from the Japanese site Charlie has linked on moosapotamus.com.

http://www8.plala.or.jp/KandR/cir_bassthru.html

I noticed there is a zig-zag (resistor) symbol with an arrow through it (VR1), about a third of the way over from the left.  Charlie doesn't include it in his layout.  A websearch tells me this is a rheostat.  I know nothing about them, other than that the ones on mouser.com have a power rating expressed in Watts.  Can someone tell me a little about them and/or give me a Mouser part #?  Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

VR1 is simply a regular potentiometer wired as a variable resistor. This means you connect the wiper and one out lug and you're done.  8)

Simple enough. Thanks for the help.
