Another Green Ringer build report

Inspired by comments in an earlier thread, I finished wiring up the Green Ringer today, using Torchy's excellent layout.
I've only messed with a ring mod setting on a multi-effect unit before, so I didn't know what to expect.  This thing is really neat.  It certainly can be "unmusical," but I enjoy that aspect of it, and there are plenty of musical tones to be had.

There's a lot more octave than I expected, especially in the higher frets, which is a bonus for me.  I was hoping for a crazy ring modulator (which I got), but the octave effects are quite usable.  I found that they stand out best when using the neck pickup, and especially with the tone rolled down.

The lack of pots threw me off a bit (isn't there something I can control ?), but made for a very quick and simple build.  This will be a snap to box up.  Foolishly though, a few days ago I painted two enclosures, one blue and one green, and I put an LPB2 in the green one (before I planned on building the Green Ringer).  I'll have to think of a clever new name to make the blue box work (I guess it's obvious what I should really put in the "blue box"), or paint over it with green (and wait another day...I'm impatient).

Hey there,  I figured I post up.  There is a great debate to whether
the green ringer is cool or not.  For the simplicity of build and it being
a different effect other than fuzz, od, dist.  I think its awesome I like having a couple of pedals other than the above mentioned and the GR sounds is one of them.  You just can't throw it into any song, but
it sounds great when you find the right thing to play it with.  Anyway
glad to hear you like it and it was a successful build.

So long as you don't call it a "blue ringer", that's been taken  :D

Here's JC's mod, if that helps put a knob on it..http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/pedalsGreenRinger.html

how big are the boxes?  Can you fit two in one?

IMHO, a GR sounds GREAT with a lpb in front of it....

I've had this thing bagged up and ready to build for awhile, so I guess I ought to go ahead and do it. It's suppose to rain all weekend here, so I may be totally confined to my work bench    . I still have the "Noise 567" that I want to throw together, just to see what it sounds like. I have really no idea what it will do or sound like, so there's only one way to know. I still have Tim's "Tripple Fuzz" to build also, and I've heard a lot of good things about that one.
