Boss Power Socket

Hi

I have a Boss pedal with a shattered power socket, the plastic has completely fell away leaving just the metal connectors.

Should this stop the pedal working on a battery?

It might, as the battery snap is disconnected mechanically when a plug is inserted into the socket.  You can easily fix this though by directly connecting the battery snap positive to the pad on the PCB where the adapter positive connects.

Cheers for the info, I have taken the dc socket out of play altogether now, by disconecting all the wires terminated on it and soldering them together.

Can now run on batteries only or via a dc lead snapped on to the battery.
