I have a radial filter cap 5600uf/100v, and I can't tell which terminal is + and which is -.  Are there markings on it or something that delineate the polarity?  Thanks!

It should be marked!

Failing that, The pos end usually has a crimp around it. Sometimes the neg lead is shorted to the can.

Edit- Sorry, I think I was talking about axial? Does yours have BP written on it? Sometimes bi-polar caps mess me up when looking for the polarity markings...

No BP, and there is no crimp, and the neg lead is not shorted to the body.  There are 3 lines on one of the rivets and there is a band down one side of the cap.  Thanks!

Does the band run from the top of the cap to the bottom with one leg directly under it?  If so and if I were to guess, that would be the negative side of the cap.
