Sorry for my delay...  :(

I just wanted to thank everybody for posting here. I'm evaluating right now what to do exactly. I'm not a beginner in electronics... i'm experienced in building low speed radio-modems (i'm radio amateur), and next year i'll become an engineer -systems engineer, not in electronics-, but, i have never built anything based on tubes... so i guess that could be a problem.

Again, ****THANKS**** everybody!!!!!, i appreciate your help

  I don't mean to sound rude at all here...but if you've never used tubes before....rule out a Dual Rec.....look at it...it'll kill ya for biasing etc...

The circuit is set up from the factory to use either MESA EL-34's or 6L6's without biasing, just flip a switch for which type tube you are using.  I don't think it would be all that hard to install varibale bias mod though to use non MESA relabled tubes.  This would also help make the DR sound oh so much sweeter.

I do agree about trying to tackle this as a first tube project though.  Even the SLO would be a pain.  Might want to built a Fender Champ clone just to get your feet wet though.
