Quote from: distoyeah ive had a look at some of craig andertons books on amazon my next question was going to be what do people think of them but i guess there pretty highly rated...

i might try the experimental approach and get myself a breadboard and do some prototyping

(ill be of to maplin before work this weekend then)
I need to read about this also...
That said, breadboarding and working with the components is what most all of the information was derived from in the first place [I'm certainly no genious enough to figure everything out just by working with it], ALOT of information about workings in a circuit is about this place...couple that with the many articles, and experimenting testing and just listening to what proposed changes a part value alterations ActuallY sounds like...a picture is worth a thousand words.
Since I DO have alot of reading to do, I'll the the 'better' read persons enlighten you as to how valueable reading excellently written books on the subject are.
 I looked for CA's EPFM...or anything C.A. wrote, to no avail  :?
The problem I haven't been able to overcome yet to any great degree, is the math...I think I skim more than I should, [probably because I have to try to read so densly into it just to find out if I can comprehend anything from it] sometimes the equational explanations really help get a grasp of what all the symbols and characters refer to...usually 'seeded' directly from a schematic related to the text.
Some of it is just over my head, perhaps a great book would make my learning cieling lift more easily.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Right at the bottom is:

PRACTICAL ELECTRONIC MUSICAL EFFECTS UNITS

Also good ones by Penfold at the above site are:
OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER USERS HANDBOOK
POWER SUPPLY PROJECTS

This site also sells:

PRACTICAL OSCILLATOR CIRCUITS By A Flind

All are thoroughly recommended!

Another good babani one is Practical Filter Circuits by Owen Bishop.  All these guides are easy to understand and excellent at explaining what's going on.

theres alot too look at im in the middle of exams at the moment and so im thinking i better put the theory on hold and just get to grips with the stuff i need to know for physics...

the little Babani books look nice easy cheap books i might check them out.

im trying to take a more theoretical look at circuits now i have looked at "cook your own distortion" distortion and i found that easy to understand and easy to relate to other projects
