An interesting thing to note is that the Purple Peaker and Yellow Humper are almost identical except for six caps and two resistors...

A very interesting thing is that almost all "Blue Clipper" schematics on the web are wrong. If you look close at the bias network you'll notice that R1 is 200k and not 20k as on the most schems that are around for years.

If you take a few DA boxes apart you'll see that the values change all the time. In the 70s and 80s CEOs thought fx were toys and demanded minimum cost for maximum profit. Everyone used the cheapest possible parts. I have several DA boxes, they work fine, but dont match the published schematics.

Try a 1970's fuzzface. Bloody awful most of them.

Shure they did but I don't think they changed a resistors value 10 times smaller. Here's the original description of the "pedal" wich says input impedance is 110K.
