This is hopefully this is now a correctly traced schematic of an onboard booster / distortion, from one of my guitars. I've redrawn , and re posted this , after looking at the guyatone ps-102 that i have, as it is similar (schematic found at discofreq's Fx site). I suppose  a distortion control like the ps-102 and a led indicator may be able to be added.

I found when i disconnected the earth from point 'z' on the diagram that the massive fuzz distortion which the effect had mellowed to a nice smooth but heavy overdrive, which i much prefer for the sort sound i'm after. The only drawback, by doing this iis that the level of out put is lowered too , so that its noticably lower than when in boost mode.  I'm not shure what to change to increase  the level in the distortion / overdrive mode. Any ideas?

It was combined with a phaser (that has some problems see other post),
apparently the onboard effects were an after market addon.

These are mounted in the body behind the bridge, with the controls mounted on a
scratch plate like surface.

Its from an early 70's Les Paul copy.
