i've recently bought a batch of ge (ac128) trannys and while leakage testing found huge variation in the leakage when just touched.

i was wondering if anyone has actually gone to the effort of attaching a heatsink to their tansistors in order to keep down their leakage and get the most out of them?

Yes I have, and it works great for stabilizing them.

I used a chunk of aluminum, cut in half and drilled holes for the transistors, they sit slightly embeded in the aluminum heatsink and are VERY stable, nothing gets rid of the hiss but the bias stays put.
