hi

just a quick question for all you guys out there that may have sold a pedal or two, how do you determine whether the pedals you make are solid enough? do you have some sort of test?

i know its best just to to a damn good job first time around, but the wires inside can move, and might break etc...

any tips?

I've sold a modest few, and given some to friends/band mates, the most
recent was an "Orange Squeezer" adapted for use with bass, I locked
everything down with clear "window sealant" Mastique ? and used heat
shrink on all the cable ends, cable tied the wires together etc.
It used standard 3DPDT/Switchcraft jacks etc.
It took so long to make it look "Pro" that It cost me money to do it !!!

I don't see me having a "boutique" building career just yet   !!

BTW - it should last a good 10 years ...... I offered 3 years on it

Use decent wire and drill holes on the side of the board for 'stays', threading the wire through the hole [then soldering them to the pots] limits the wiggling and strand or wire breakage.
