I wonder if it is posible to eliminate the octave of a distortion circuit???

Hi,
Not sure what octave effect you want to mod, but you can remove the octave on the Tyco like this,http://fuzzcentral.tripod.com/octavia.html

Maybe it's the same on other octave pedals too.

Do you mean the "harmonics" created by distorting the straight gtr input ?
That would just be a "signal boost" - as soon as the signal begins to
"distort" even a little, you will get even and odd harmonics, but that's what makes the "crunch" sound nice !!
With some caps/resistors you could "roll out" the octave perhaps, leaving
the fundamental and the lesser harmonics ..... anyone else ??

I mean to eliminate the octave up, just as gavin said...

I have an old lazer stompbox, it has 3 JRC4558S, Should I remove the diodes from the feedback??? I've found there a couple of Ge diodes...

sorry for my bad English...

Can you post pics of the circuit board?
Some of the diodes are probably the source of the distortion, almost certainly the diodes in the feedback.

I'm sorry but the quality is bad... I'll get a better camera soon...
