Hello all,

Here I am, again, asking for help building an EH bassballs clone.

The twin filters work great ! I used pots instead of trimpots and I can get very very good configs from it, but the problem is that I can't use the sensitivity pot of the fuzz mod because the signal is somehow hiding when should be amplificated.

This is the schematic ... I'm using two RC4559 from texas ... in the "1458" opamp, the signal goes to the leg number 6 and should get amplificated and out at leg number 7... but I get no sound from it! I've tried to replace it and nothing happened , replaced again and nothing, replaced for an TLC 2262 and nothing ... and then I decied to see if it was a cold joint, and no, it's not, everything redone and the same problem ... then I made cable for listening to the singla from the opamp legs so I would have no doubt, and yes, the signal reaches the leg number 6, and NO, the sound does not flow from leg number 7.

And yes , the voltage is almost 9... like 8.90
The other half of the opamp works like a dream!

What else could I do but changing the opamp (did it 3 times) or redoing the joints (did it once) ???

Thanks for your attention, help and patience.

Hohoho .... its working !!!

I decied to change not only 1 ic to TLC2262, but both, and then , tchanan! working !!! and great!

I did the tropopicione and got the same problem but never thought it was the ci ...
There they say it's a critical component, that some problems could occur if the ics where changed but ... I couldn't imagine this would happen! and the stuff does not work with a TLC2262 and a RC4559 (using the rc for the q filters ....)...
Anyway thanks for the ones who took a look at this thread!

See ya

Gabriel

Zero the hero

Nice to see that you get it working!
Sorry if I haven't had any chance to give you my support for the project I posted on my site:I hope that you enjoy the bassball anyway!

Thanks for your attention anyway ..

I see that the problem I had with the tropopiccione project was the opamp .... the same problem! .... so people should advise that you can gowith the rc4559 instead of 1458...

and I´d like to know if changing the 1n4148 for a ge diode like 1n60 wouldgive a better "fuzz"  sound .... and how could I give more ... hummm power to hat effect ... like more sensitivity ....

Thanks
Gabriel
