Cascaded ruby/fetzer valves?

Last night I built a Ruby Tuby. Of course it doesn't work yet, I only get a loud screech that gets louder or changes pitch depending on which pot I turn. I am 90% the 386 I used was an old one that was likely fried. SO off to RS today to score a couple new one.
I got to thinking if anyone had made a two stage ruby yet?
I think once I get this single one spitting some sound i am going to try this but was thinking it has probably already been done?
If not anyone know what to expect from that kind of design?
I am hoping to get some nicer sustaining like gain rather than out and out distortion or fuzz. Am I just day dreaming? Actually I am not all that concerned with the tone of this thing. So long as it can play clean and slighty dirty I will be happy. The clips sound very cool.
OK well thought I would just think aloud this morning and see if anyone else had the same idea.
Will post when I get this single one to work and take it from there.
Any input!?

Look at the Little Gem MkII.  That uses 2 LM386's.

Actually, I was thinking of cascading two of the tube ends of the circuit, then using one 386 at the end. I need to get this one runnign first then I'll mull over building a second tube half. I was just curcious about coupling the two. I'll post what I am thinking of doing before trying it to see if I am missing somethign. Thanks for the heads up though. Maybe if I get the two fetzers working well into one I can think of dropping it into a MKII.

I see what you're saying.  I think Dragonfly posted a schematic of a dual Fetzer, out of one, in to the other with a gain pot in between.  Build two Fetzers and out of the first one, go in to the second one.  The volume pot at the end of the first stage becomes a gain pot and you'll still have the volume at the end of the second stage.  I haven't tried this myself but I bet it would sound pretty nice.

Sweet! I'll poke around for dragonfly's thing but yeah it sounds like a simple and fun project.

Got it.  It's in his Layouts Gallery.

Now, to put this in front of a Ruby, go to the Runoffgroove.com FAQ.  They have a schematic of a Fetzer/Ruby.  Only difference you would do is add another Fetzer circuit before the first one.  Bingo, 2 Fetzers in to one Ruby.

Whoops. I think I got you confused about which circuit I am trying to goof with.
This is the circuit I am trying to work with.

It is based on the fetzer and the ruby but with a tube.
Still it all looks to be the same. Once I get one workign I'll do another without the 386 and hack them together.
