I've never bothered posting a build report before, but I just boxed my Ross Phaser from Tonepad, and I'm really happly with it.

Added two of the extra stage boards and made them switchable for 4, 8 or 12 stages and did the vibe and filter mods (but not the Univibe mod) - were these Hammer's?

Nice and quiet - no tick - it's capable of a real wide range of sounds - subtle phase, or very sick detuning, if you want - really have to back off on the regen as the stages increase.

I really recommend this build - I've already send my Small Stone packing.

Actually, while I'm on the topic - I also recently finished the Silly Feline, with Moosapotamusses (sp?) mods (think they were his) - surprisingly cool and I've found that I keep coming back to it - quickly becoming a regular part of my gear - the tone controls really increase the pedal's versatility - I don't think I'd bother building it without them.

Oh - the only change I made is that I found I had more than enough gain stock - instead of the resistor switch I added a 100K resistor in series with a 500K pot to control it - nice.

And it really works best with the 2SK30 tranny.....

So, thanks Geo, Tonepad, and everyone else for the mods and the layouts - both great builds!

That's some kinda uber-phaser, my friend. :icon_biggrin:
Just curious.  I've made/heard phase-filter units with 4 stages, but never with more stages than that.  So does the the 2 stages of lowpass make a difference when vastly outnumbered by phaseshift stages?
