Holy Grail mods?

Hey,

I am wondering if there is some mods to attenuate the hiss and noise some people are complaining about.  Actually, my bandmate has one and it does kind of hiss a little, I was wondering if there is anything possible to do, cause I know it's digital and can't be modded easily, or maybe at all.

mine has a dissapointing level of hiss that I notice with instrument level signals,  the only solution I've used is just more gain going before the reverb.  It seems to have a good amount of headroom, and I haven't noticed any clipping type ickiness when I do that.

is it possibly caused by his power supply? make sure he's using the dedicated power supply, I used to REAM that thing, or just straight guitar and I had NO hiss problems through my silverface bassman 100.
