in light of the fuzz factory through, would it be possible to change the default search mode to a "all" rather than "any" ?  I think that is the mode that most people use most often (the only one I ever use)

has this been looked into ?

Hal, that's a good idea. I never noticed that there was a choice until a couple days ago. I've been stringing words with AND.

Yes he did hence my hinting post. I made that suggestion awhile back after another psudo-flame thread about using the search function.

I also made the suggestion that if someone is going to post a "do a search" that maybe they should do an initial search themselves on the topic to make sure there is information availible and post some results along with what criteria they used to find the information. I myself have taken upon my own advice when I post a "The search function is your friend" I include a few links on the relivant topic and what I used to find the thread (i.e. search criteria and any special options used like the "search for all" option.)

Those who post a "do a search" mentioning that it would only take a minute to do should maybe give the benifit of the doubt to the OP and spend that extra minute themselves to do a search including the search criteria information to help teach the OP how to use of the search function. The search function on this forum is not as intuitive as other search engines i.e. Google, Yahoo!, etc. This suggestion should apply especially to newbies. Treat it as a primer.

It's too bad that the search cannot do an "exact phrase" search but everyone knows about it and wants to improve it in the future.

See phpbb.com for all the gory details.
