Hello! This is my first post here at this forum. But i've read alot before and during the built of my first clone, a Ibanez TS9.... and I got myself a 3dpt-swith to get true bypass and I followed this "manual"

But I bought another inputjack instead of the type in the picture.
I doesn't have a ring but it has "autogrounding", at least I think it's meant for that. Check out my masterpeace  8) and you maybe understand what I mean:

Can I use this jack and get the truebypass cirquit to work anyway or do I need the other jack? How should I connect it? You can call the connections Sleeve, Tip and ground.

So long!!

I haven't found much use for that type of 'autogrounding' jack.
You need a "TRS" [tip/ring/sleeve] stereo jack for the input jack power switch trick, [and use a mono plug].

Yeah, unfortunately that kind makes a connection when no plug is inserted, and it grounds the tip.  You want a connection to be made between power and circuit ground when a plug is inserted.

Hang onto those though.  They're great for amp inputs, projects with multiple outputs, and multi-effect boxes when you wanna still be able to switch around the order.

ps... cool drawings ;)

That switch on the tip connector of the jack is on it's own lug...?
I have some jacks like this buried in boxes or somewhere, I don't have to check out, but if this is the case it would make a nice addition to my Splitter Blend, I could tie the tips together automatically [by not having a plug in the jacks of the Green Channel] when I want 'just through' on that side, instead though I've installed an SPST switch that does that.

I finished my clone now and it sounds fine!! I will use that jack anyway and go with a ac-adapter instead.

I made a small tweak to get more bass into the circuit. Read about it here:

I use a 0.22uF capacitor instead of the original 0.047uF.
