Please forgive this newbie post. I've read up on a lot of beginner threads and FAQs, but I'm just trying to gather info for an engineer friend to help me.

I play bass, and just got a new yellow DOD 250. The non-true bypass is something I can't handle, it just effects my tone in not a nice way. I would like to make it true bypass. Adding an LED light to indicate when it's on would be great, but not that necessary.

Could someone give me instructions and a parts list? I'm not sure what to look for. When I said I was a beginner, I really meant it -- a real electronics dork. But my friend is quite competent. Hopefully this project will get me started in the DIY pedal world. Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone have instructions and parts information? Or could someone point me in the right direction?

I just had a long discussion with a guy over at Harmony Central about true-bypassing his DOD 250.

Unfortunately, Harmony Central is worthless and they delete on-topic threads from last week while leaving off topic threads from a year ago intact.

It's gone...but it would have been helpful.

Sorry.

I'm building a MXR Distortion+ (same circuit as a DOD250) and got it true bypass.... Here is my schematic of how to make it TB.

please notify that your signal goes through the switch BEFORE it enters the distortion circuit (effect input, effect output  )

what you need is a 3PDT (TPDT) switch, a LED, a resistor (depends on what kind of LED you use)... that's it.

I hope this will work with you, good luck! :D

EDIT: I see some words are still in Dutch, I'll give you translations! :P

Yeah, I looked for it too with no luck. Thanks anyway

Thanks Fumi SG! I'll be talking to my friend about this soon. So is this (besides parts and tools) all I will need to make the modification?
