I was looking at the schematic for the octave divider, and in the parts list for Z1/Z2/Z3 on Board 1 and Z3/Z4/Z5 on Board 2, it specifies "Dual Op Amp, Sel. (RC4558NB)".  While NTE makes an equivalent for this IC, I was wondering about the "Sel" part, which I assume means selected?

Can anyone tell me the criteria for selecting a 4558 for this application?

TIA,
Joe

I'd just go with one that works, maybe try another one too since it'll probly be socketted.
Of the 4558's tried, I noticed...er didn't notice much inconsistancy from one unit to the next.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

hank reynolds 3rd

any dual op will work i guess...
I used tl082's in mine and it works fine
