A really stupid simple way of getting echo.

I was struggling with a guitar headphone amp, trying to figure out why i had a (really cool, but unwanted) reverb echo sound in the left channel.  It sounded like i was in a concert hall, but only in left channel.

After fiddling around, i realised it wasn't my circuit, it was the stupid freaking jack, the right channel goes straight to the pin on the jack, but the left channel has a spring in it.  I didn't know making a reverb sound was so easy.

So if anyone wants echo in their circuit, you can have my 10c headphone jack and solder a guitar signal on either end of the spring.

From now on i'm gonna be very cautious as to which jack i buy...

Isn't that essentially what a spring reverb tank does?  Much longer springs than in an audo jack, though...more reflections from those.

If only it were that easy to get reverb.....

The explanation must be elsewhere.
