Hi guys,

I'm thinking of modding a boss ds-2 to keeley's seeing eye mod specs. Is it possible to do that?

Anyone done that before and know which cap and resistors to change and to what value?

Thanks! :)

For the rest of the mods, do a search on the DS-1, there's plenty of info here on the forum concerning the DS-1. Personally, I don't like the Keeley mods as "reported". A little too woofy for me, less livley sound. I say "reported", because I get the feeling if you checked the values of  actual Keeley modded DS-1's, they probably are different than what's reported on the web. There is also at least three different versions of the ckt with 3 different op amps, certain mods don't respond the same with each version.

My suggestion is to try the basic mods, then adjust the eq and clipping to suit your rig.

In my experience of DS-1 mods, ( done/sold about 25 )
the Red LED's are good as clipping diodes , increasing the
gain a little can be good.
Cutting some "high shit" out if the tone control is good, but pumping too
much "low end" makes it sound a bit too "woofy" - so leave the i/o caps
alone and dont increase the bass end through the distortion section.

Hi,

Thanks guys. I was hoping someone would provide me some info about modding a ds-2 (as opposed to ds-1) to sem specs. ie I want to mod a ds-2 to SEM specs.

Can the ds-1 mod be applied to the ds-2 as well? Change all the same cap and resistor no?

Thanks.

Ah, we missed that it was a DS-2   , I believe that the schematic is floating around here somewhere. Yes the same basic modding principals apply.
